“COMPOUND INCOME, ESPECIALLY ON A TAX EXEMPT BASIS, AT HIGH RATES IS THE MOST POWERFUL SOURCE OF WEALTH CREATION AVAILABLE TO THE INVESTOR.”
— L. George Rieger, Chairman and Chief Investment Strategist
Greenwich Investment Management manages portfolios of bonds and common stocks that emphasize high cash flow and precisely focused reinvestment.
We favor non-institutionally owned bonds and equities. Our equity portfolios tend to be non-diversified as that phrase is commonly used among institutional investors.
Each client has a unique Statement of Investment Objectives (SIO). Our goal is to generate cash flow that is surplus to the client’s needs within a specified timeframe.
Our investment management strategy is based upon chapter 2 of Inside the Yield Book. First published in 1972 by Martin L. Leibowitz and Sidney Homer.
Greenwich Investment Management strategy may be suitable only for sophisticated persons. GIM’s portfolios have several characteristics that we believe are uncommon, even unique.
High Yield Tax Exempt Bonds (HYTEB)
Greenwich Investment Management acquires for our clients entire bond issues that we call “single handed transactions.” The firm is active in the primary and secondary market for bonds that we do not own as single handed transactions. Sectors that GIM favors for single handed transactions include charter schools, private schools and colleges, senior living facilities and logistical facilities primarily on airports. GIM management will acquire and restructure impaired or defaulted bonds.
